A 2-speed Ford-O-Matic transmission is on back and the rear axle weighs in with a 3.50 ratio.Ĭoated in the factory undercoating and a dose of patina, this car has no rust, is very sound structurally, and has independent front with coil springs suspension, a leaf sprung back suspension, and drum brakes with a dual reservoir master cylinder complete the package. A beneficiary of a recent rebuild and looking snappy with the black painted block, red valve cover and air cleaner assembly. Sitting in the nicely restored engine bay is a correct 170ci inline 6-cylinder. An original red plastic steering wheel complete with half round chrome horn ring fronts this dash and like new red carpet is flooding the floors. Down low on the dash are the chrome heater slides and a sprinkling of black knobs and pulls. The dash front in brushed aluminum matte finish panels which frames red steel above and below and is fitted with the original gauge cluster and the original radio which still works, is seen in the dash. This carries through to the rear seats, where see a bench version with another flying Falcon emblem on the upper cushion, in showroom condition. In front, a low back split bench in red vinyl with tuck and roll inserts and smooth bolsters have a thick cream piping separating them. A handle and a window crank in shiny condition are in this sea of textural and visual eye candy. Swinging one of the doors, it immediately shows off with its red metal top sill with Futura badging in the center, aluminum horizontal ribbed trim centerpiece, and some ribbed red vinyl on the bottom. This top is power actuated and goes up and down with ease and chrome wire hubcaps with faux spinners are wrapped in thin whitewall rubber and look just fab. Both bumpers are new and pristine, and the newer professionally installed white convertible top presents to us in tear free form is very clean and has a clear plastic rear window. The back panel of this car utilizes turbine style round taillights which flank a shiny badge with Futura and a runoff textured aluminum rear trim. A clean stainless eggcrate grille with floating highlights in each crate let the crowd know that you have arrived. From its paperclip shaped trim spear starting from the front and leading to the rear of the back quarter ending with a crescendo of chromed chevrons, we can see some added excitement in the form of a flying Falcon badge behind the front wheels. This one is a driver, presents nicely, and drives fab!īedecked in a respray of Raven Black, (Nevermore!), this car has a few rust bubbles, and the paint presents as nice but in need of a good buffing and waxing.
